Rue
du Poteau (5 minutes
from the cooking school)
For cheese - we
suggest going to Chez Marie Quatrehomme at

we like is La Nouvelle. They specialize
in poultry so you will find birds of all sizes from all regions.
But red meat is very much present as well.
Fruits and Vegetables - There
is Les Halles de Montmartre at the
corner of rue du Poteau and rue Duhesme, which has fresh seasonal
produce by piece or by weight.
Wine - Found all
over Paris is a chain of wine stores called Nicolas,
there is a good selection of wine, champagne and spirits at every
price for all tastes. There is one at Place Charles Bernard

same? Go buy a lovely rotisserie chicken from Maistre
Mathieu at 10 rue du Poteau

breads with a large selection including traditional pastries.

of French cheeses but also cheeses from all over Europe

and some high end products like chocolates, little cakes, conserved
vegetables, rare oils . . .

different, but also carries preserved foods and quality products,
as well as coffee and tea from all over the world.
Patisserie
- #26, Les Petits Mitrons is
charming pastry that is a bit different from many of the others
you will find around Paris. Here there are no pretenses. The
display windows sports tarts that look like you could have made
them in your own kitchen but don't be fooled by the meager exterior,
this tarts will knock your socks off. This is grandma's pastry
shop if there ever was one.

and there is a lovely variety of prepared food to take home and
reheat.
